ബ്രസല്‍സ്: മൂന്ന് ദിവസത്തെ അപ്പസ്തോലിക സന്ദര്‍ശനത്തിന്റെ തുടക്കത്തില്‍ ലക്സംബര്‍ഗ് സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ച ശേഷം ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ് മാര്‍പാപ്പ ബെല്‍ജിയത്തിലെത്തി.ലക്സംബര്‍ഗില്‍ നിന്നം 55 മിനിറ്റ് നേരം വിമാനത്തില്‍ യാത്ര ചെയ്താണ് വ്യാഴാഴ്ച വൈകുന്നേരം ഫ്രാന്‍സിസ് മാര്‍പാപ്പ ബ്രസല്‍സിലെ മെല്‍സ്ബ്രോക്ക് എയര്‍ ബേസില്‍ ലാന്റ് ചെയ്തത്. പാപ്പയുടെ 46~ാമത് അപ്പോസ്തോലിക വിദേശ യാത്രയുടെ രണ്ടാം പാദമാണ് ഇത്.

ബെല്‍ജിയത്തിലെ അപ്പസ്തോലിക് ന്യൂണ്‍ഷ്യോ, ആര്‍ച്ച് ബിഷപ്പ് ഫ്രാങ്കോ കൊപ്പോള, ബെല്‍ജിയം അംബാസഡര്‍ പാട്രിക് റെനോ എന്നിവര്‍ പാപ്പായെ രാജ്യത്തേക്ക് സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്തു.
മെഷെലെന്‍~ബ്രസ്സല്‍ ആര്‍ച്ച് ബിഷപ്പ്, മാലിന്‍സ്~ബ്രക്സെല്ലസ്, ലുക്ക് ടെര്‍ലിന്‍ഡന്‍ എന്നിവരും മത~സിവില്‍ അധികാരികളുടെ പ്രതിനിധി സംഘവുമാണ് ടാര്‍മാക്കില്‍ മാര്‍പ്പാപ്പയെ എതിരേറ്റത്.

വത്തിക്കാനിലെയും ബെല്‍ജിയത്തിലെയും ദേശീയ ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ ആലപിച്ച സൈനിക ബാന്‍ഡും ഗാര്‍ഡ് ഓഫ് ഓണറും പാപ്പ സ്വീകരിച്ചു. കുട്ടികളുടെ ഗായകസംഘവും പരിശുദ്ധ പിതാവിനെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഗാനങ്ങള്‍ ആലപിച്ചു. 1995~ല്‍ സെന്റ് ജോണ്‍ രണ്ടാമന്‍ മാര്‍പാപ്പയാണ് അവസാനമായി ബെല്‍ജിയം സന്ദര്‍ശിച്ച മാര്‍പാപ്പ.

ലോകത്തിലെ പ്രമുഖ ദൈവശാസ്ത്ര ഫാക്കല്‍റ്റികളിലൊന്നായ 1425 ല്‍ സ്ഥാപിതമായ ല്യൂവന്‍ കാത്തലിക് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയുടെ 600~ാം വാര്‍ഷികം ആഘോഷിക്കുക എന്നതാണ് ഈ സന്ദര്‍ശനത്തിന്റെ ഒരു പ്രത്യേകത. സന്ദര്‍ശനത്തിന്റെ അവസാന ദിവസമായ സെപ്റ്റംബര്‍ 29 ഞായറാഴ്ച, 35,000~ത്തിലധികം വിശ്വാസികള്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുമെന്ന് പ്രതീക്ഷിക്കുന്ന ബ്രസല്‍സിലെ കിംഗ് ബൗഡുയിന്‍ സ്റേറഡിയത്തില്‍ മാര്‍പാപ്പ കുര്‍ബാന അര്‍പ്പിയ്ക്കും.ദചവബലിയി്ക്കിടെ അന്ന ഡി ജീസസിനെ വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെട്ട പദവിയിലേയ്ക്ക് ഉയര്‍ത്തും.
